Commercial Refrigeration Installation Across Scotland

Correct installation is the foundation of a well-performing, energy-efficient refrigeration system. System selection, positioning, airflow, electrical supply, drainage and commissioning all affect the long-term performance and reliability of your equipment — getting it right at the outset prevents costly remediation and ensures your systems operate within manufacturer warranty parameters.

Centro One manages the full installation process — from initial site survey and system design through to commissioning and handover. We work on new-build commercial kitchens and hospitality developments, refurbishment projects, and replacement of end-of-life equipment across Scotland and the North of England.

What We Install

We install the full range of commercial refrigeration equipment for operators across hospitality, food retail, food production and healthcare catering:

  • Walk-in cold rooms and freezer rooms — custom-built or modular construction with floors, ceilings, insulated panels and refrigeration machinery
  • Commercial upright fridges and freezers — single and multi-door cabinets for catering preparation, storage and service applications
  • Blast chillers and blast freezers — rapid chilling and freezing equipment for production kitchens, hotel catering and food service
  • Display refrigeration — upright display cabinets, multi-deck open display and serve-over counters for food retail environments
  • Under-counter and prep refrigeration — worktop, drawer and under-counter units for kitchen service lines and preparation areas
  • Cellar cooling systems — remote and self-contained cellar cooling for licensed premises, breweries and wine storage
  • Bar refrigeration — back-bar display coolers, bottle coolers, ice makers and integrated bar refrigeration for licensed premises

Designed for Your Operation

Every installation begins with a detailed site survey and operational brief. We do not recommend equipment before we understand what you actually need it to do — and we do not commission before we have verified it is working correctly.

Our Installation Process

1. Site Survey

We visit your site to assess the space, operational requirements, electrical supply, drainage and any structural constraints that affect system selection or positioning.

2. System Design

We provide a written specification covering equipment recommendations, layout, estimated energy consumption and a fixed installation quotation.

3. Supply & Install

We source and supply the specified equipment and carry out the full mechanical and electrical installation, including pipework, refrigerant charging, electrical connections and drainage.

4. Commissioning

Once installed, we commission the system to manufacturer specification, verifying temperatures, pressures, controls and safety devices before sign-off.

5. Handover

We provide full handover documentation covering the installed system, controls operation, maintenance requirements and warranty information.

Why Correct Installation Matters

Installation quality affects every aspect of your refrigeration system’s long-term performance. The consequences of getting it wrong compound over years of operation.

Factor Impact of Incorrect Installation
Food Safety Incorrectly installed or undersized refrigeration cannot reliably maintain the temperature ranges required by food safety legislation — creating immediate compliance risk.
Energy Consumption Poorly installed systems — wrong refrigerant charge, inadequate condenser ventilation, poor door seals from day one — consume significantly more energy than correctly commissioned equipment. The cost compounds over years of operation.
Warranty Validity Most manufacturers require installation by a competent engineer and proper commissioning records as a condition of warranty. Unqualified installation voids cover at the point when it matters most.
Equipment Longevity Equipment installed to correct specification operates at design efficiency and experiences lower component stress — consistently outlasting equipment that is not, and reducing whole-life cost significantly.
Regulatory Compliance F-Gas Regulations require installation involving fluorinated refrigerants to be carried out by certified engineers, with all refrigerant use documented. Non-compliance carries legal exposure.

Bespoke and Customised Systems

Not all commercial refrigeration requirements fit standard off-the-shelf configurations. Centro One has experience delivering bespoke refrigeration solutions for operators where space, aesthetics or operational constraints require a customised approach.

  • Cold rooms built to non-standard dimensions
  • Refrigeration integrated within designed bar or retail environments
  • Units fitted with custom fascias or finishes to match interior design schemes
  • Multi-zone temperature systems serving complex catering operations across a single site

Where a project requires close collaboration with the main contractor, interior designer or project manager, we work as a specialist subcontractor — providing the technical input required to ensure refrigeration systems are correctly integrated into the overall build.
